With vintage sounds and style, the retro party atmosphere at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse was amazing.
We discovered how to get the vintage look at Flamingo Amy’s Pop-up Salon in Cherry Tree Cottage and, nearby, there were classic cars from a golden era. Not forgetting the Vintage Market with lots of period treasures on sale in the marquee.
There were tunes from age to get us into the swing with DJ Mark Purdy spinning records and live music from The B-Sides and The Austin Beats, which were sure to get your pulse racing and your feet tapping.
We discovered gems from the past with an array of Vintage jewellery, china, furniture, homeware and clothes to purchase from the retail marquee.
If classic cars were more your thing, there was a range of period vehicles, from an American Ford Pick-up Truck to a VW Campervan.
For some tasty refreshment we visited the Blackboard catering Airstream trailer for delicious gourmet hotdogs or Chihuahua’s vintage fire truck for tasty Mexican street food. There were also sweet treats available from our 1970s Tuck Shop.
We explored a 1950s inspired bodgers’ camp and had an opportunity to create a retro piece of jewellery. Getting creative in Art Attack! we made some groovy vintage inspired crafts, and experienced a 1970s school lesson – there really was something for everyone!
It really was a most enjoyable day and great fun for everyone, as can be seen in the accompanying photographic album at the bottom of this page.
Well done to everyone at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse for all their hard work which made this day possible!
