We celebrated Mothering Sunday with a visit to Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse on Sunday 11 March.
We met organisations from the Women reaching Women group, discovering the fantastic work they are involved in with women across Norfolk and globally … and a free cream tea for all mums!
The spring flowers are coming into bloom so we spent precious time exploring the 50 acre site.
Convened by Norfolk Federation Women’s Institutes, ‘Norfolk Women Reaching Women’, originates from a WI project 2008-2012 and continues to
flourish in Norfolk with more organisations joining in the annual IWD event including Mother’s Union, Soroptimists, Leeway, GATE, Freedom Charity, Norwich Dedza Partnership, Diversity Plus, ACWW The Daisy Project and more.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to network with other women’s organisations and share the excellent work that we do to make a difference to the lives of women in Norfolk.”

There were activities for the whole family including stalls, crafts, talks, singing and story-telling.
Also a chance to get creative and make mum an extra special brooch in Art Attack! There was also a chance to look behind the scenes at the Norfolk Collections Centre and have a go a designing and making your own printed Mother’s Day card.
In the Mardlers’ Rest Café, there was a treat with a free cream tea for all mothers, so I guess all mums were spoilt on their special day and had a great day out with all the family!
